The Field Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction through the installation, commissioning, servicing, and piloting of GOVAPEX™ equipment. This position requires a hands-on professional who is customer-focused, technically skilled, and comfortable working in the field with frequent travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service while representing GOVAPEX with professionalism.
  • Travel domestically to install, commission, maintain, and repair GOVAPEX™ equipment, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Conduct onsite diagnostics, assess issues, document findings, and recommend repairs or part replacements.
  • Perform accurate and timely documentation, including job reports, service records, and data entry.
  • Set up, test, and troubleshoot equipment at company headquarters prior to shipment.
  • Conduct pilot studies at customer locations and maintain pilot units.
  • Work closely with customers, contractors, manufacturer representatives, and maintenance personnel.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Project Management, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Assist Production and Operations teams with equipment builds and other tasks as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and use PPE correctly at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to repair and service complex technical equipment.
  • Hands-on experience using tools, meters, and diagnostic test equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electricity, computer operations, and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with electrical motors and electromechanical components.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as work orders, manuals, and specifications.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Preferred: Technical degree, vocational certificate, or prior field service experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Physical & Working Conditions

  • Frequent work in confined spaces (e.g., waterlines, small sewage areas).
  • Exposure to fumes, dust, gases, chemicals, and loud noise.
  • Work may involve outdoor environments, including extreme weather (sun, snow, rain, mud, heat, cold).
  • Regular lifting, pushing, or pulling of 20–50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Activities may include climbing, kneeling, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must maintain visual acuity to safely operate machinery and tools.
